Following breast implant removal, you will need to stay in the clinic for a period of time to ensure close monitoring by our medical professionals, including nurses, surgeons, and anesthesiologists. Drains may be placed to remove excess fluid from the surgical site, and these drains are typically removed within 24 to 48 hours. Once our medical team determines it is appropriate, you will be allowed to leave the clinic. Dental Studio Antalya will arrange transportation to your accommodation.
During the initial days of recovery, you may experience some discomfort, bruising, and swelling in the treated areas. These symptoms gradually subside within 2 to 6 weeks. Pain medication and medication to minimize swelling will be provided to ensure your comfort. Rest is essential during the first week, and pressure should be avoided on the chest area.
You may be instructed to wear a supportive bra or compression garment during the initial weeks of recovery to provide optimal support and promote proper healing. The duration of wearing these garments will be determined by your surgeon. Physical activities should be avoided for the first few weeks to allow for proper healing.
Around 2 weeks after the surgery, the stitches will be removed. After 3 weeks, you can gradually resume light activities, and approximately 6 weeks post-surgery, you can fully engage in your regular activities.
In the first few months following breast implant removal, the incision scars may appear red or fiery in color. However, over time, they will fade and become less visible. It’s important to protect the scars from sun exposure during the first year and use a high-factor sunscreen afterward. Initially, your nipple sensation may be altered, but normal sensation typically returns. The final results become more apparent after about 3 months.
As with any surgery, breast implant removal procedures carry general risks, including allergic reactions, poor wound healing, bleeding, or, despite sterile conditions, infections. However, these complications are rare. There is a very small risk of thrombosis or anesthesia-related risks. Occasionally, additional procedures may be required to address any concerns such as capsular contracture, implant rupture, or breast asymmetry.
